On 8 March 2026, the Women Run 10K, empowered by Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc., was successfully held in Phnom Penh to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme “Women on the Path of Peace.” The event marked an important milestone in promoting women’s participation in sports and community engagement. With around 4,000 participants, including athletes and running enthusiasts, the run started at 5:00 a.m. in front of Wat Botumvatey Pagoda Park. Now in its 5th year, the Women Run featured 10 km and 4 km routes, bringing participants together for a meaningful celebration of women’s strength and unity. The running route took participants through Koh Pich and Koh Norea, creating an energetic and memorable atmosphere with strong support and cheering along the route.

The Women Run 10K was proudly hosted by Lok Chum Teav Dr. Koy Pisey, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia; H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia; Lok Chum Teav Nhem Morokot, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Women’s Affairs of Cambodia and President of the Cambodia DanceSport Federation; Ms. Tan Linna, Deputy Director General of the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC); and Mr. Loke Kah Meng, Chief Executive Officer of Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc.

Prior to the event, a press conference was held on 30 January 2026 by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) in partnership with Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc. The event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), extending the strategic partnership between the two organizations for another five years to continue organizing the Women Run program.

During the event, Mr. Loke Kah Meng, CEO of Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc., expressed his appreciation for the strong participation and support. After five years of collaboration with the NOCC, this year’s Women Run 10K reached a new milestone with over 4,000 participants across both race categories. He also thanked both local and international participants for coming together with a shared purpose.

As part of the initiative, Sovannaphum Life Assurance will donate 2,000 riels for each registered participant, with the total donation​ 8,000,000 riels. The funds will support two organizations in Siem Reap Province dedicated to empowering women.

  • Banteay Srei, a Cambodian women’s NGO, works to support those vulnerable to gender-based violence by providing shelter, skills training and community support. The donation will help provide bicycles, sleeping materials, library books and educational support for children.
  • Women’s Resource Center (WRC) empowers women through information, counseling and education. The donation will support sewing machines for vocational training and study materials for children of single mothers.
