The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and Sovannaphum Life Assurance PLC have once again joined hands to organize the 5th edition of Women Run 10K, returning in 2026 under the theme “Women Run in the Path of Peace”. The signature event is held in celebration of International Women’s Day, uniting the community through physical empowerment, social engagement and meaningful action to support women’s resilience, leadership and well-being across Cambodia.

The upcoming run will take place on Sunday, 8 March 2026, starting at 5:00 AM in front of Wat Botum Park. Participants can choose between 10 km and 4 km race categories, both open to all ages. While the event is primarily a women’s 10 km run, male participants are welcome to join and enjoy the activities. Every registered participant will receive a T-shirt, gym sack and race bib, with female participants receiving a special Khorma Khmer gift. All finishers, regardless of distance, will be awarded a unique medal featuring the number 8, honoring International Women’s Day on 8 March

The press conference for Women Run 10K 2026 was held on Friday, 30 January 2026, attended by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport and Secretary General of NOCC, alongside Mr. Loke Kah Meng, Chief Executive Officer of Sovannaphum Life Assurance, and senior management representatives from both organizations.

During the conference, H.E. Vath Chamroeun emphasized the significance of the event:
“We are grateful to all participants who have supported Women Run 10K since its debut in 2020. Together, NOCC and Sovannaphum Life Assurance continue to promote health, community and the empowerment of women across Cambodia.”

Mr. Loke Kah Meng reflected on the journey of the past five years:
“From breaking records with over 2,000 participants in 2020 to welcoming more than 3,000 participants in 2025, Women Run 10K has grown into a signature event inspiring healthier lifestyles and celebrating women’s leadership. This year’s theme, Women in the Path of Peace, highlights our ongoing commitment to making a lasting social impact while empowering women in Cambodia.”

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sovannaphum Life Assurance contributes 2,000 riel per registered participant, totaling up to 8,000,000 riels, to support women-focused initiatives in Cambodia. This year, the donations benefit:

  • Banteay Srei (Siem Reap Province): Supports vulnerable women through shelter, protection, and skill-building programs. Donations include bicycles, sleeping materials, books and educational support for children.
  • Women’s Resource Center (WRC): Provides a safe drop-in center, counseling, education and workshops for women. Donations include sewing machines and study materials for children of single mothers.

Looking forward, NOCC and Sovannaphum Life Assurance plan to continue hosting Women Run 10K for the next five years, reinforcing their dedication to inclusivity, health, and empowerment for women of all ages and backgrounds.
