Phnom Penh, May 26, 2025 – Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc. continues its commitment to supporting and empowering women in Cambodia. Following the company’s announcement during Women Run 10K 2025, Sovannaphum Life has fulfilled its pledge by donating essential materials to the Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center (CWCC), a leading local NGO working to protect and support women and children affected by gender-based violence.
CWCC provides a wide range of support services including safe shelter, legal assistance, counseling, vocational training, and economic empowerment. With over 28 years of experience, the organization operates in Phnom Penh, Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, and Kampong Speu, helping hundreds of women and children each year rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.
Mr. Loke Kah Meng, CEO of Sovannaphum Life, led the handover of 1 laundry machine, 6 solar lights, 3 CCTV camera sets, and 1 printer to support CWCC’s shelter operations in Phnom Penh. He said: “These essential items are intended to enhance safety and improve the daily operations of the shelter—supporting the care CWCC provides to those in need.” He added, “We believe our role goes beyond insurance. Our CSR efforts—from supporting schools with learning tools to contributing to safe spaces like CWCC—reflect our mission to uplift vulnerable communities.”
Mrs. Thak Socheat, Executive Director of CWCC, also expressed her appreciation to Sovannaphum Life: “The support materials provided not only improve the living conditions for women and children in our shelter, but also carry emotional value—they show that we are not alone in this mission. We are deeply grateful for Sovannaphum Life’s support and commitment to women’s empowerment.”
CWCC reported that in 2024 alone, it provided assistance to 667 women and children, 432 of whom were housed in shelters. The donated items will directly benefit these survivors by improving the safety, efficiency, and comfort of the shelter environment.
Through this initiative, Sovannaphum Life reaffirms its broader commitment to social responsibility—supporting efforts that promote protection, healing, and hope for Cambodian women and children in crisis.
